In a vote that even stunned preservationists, the Commission on Chicago Landmarks about an hour ago failed to pass a proposal that would have allowed for the "dismantlement, demolition, repair and reconstruction of a Chicago Landmark."
The Commission failed to get a simple majority when 4 members voted for the proposal, 3 against it, and one abstained.
