The Chicago Historical Society, which is currently closed due to a major overhaul,
recently announced it will change its name when the doors re-open this September. The new moniker? The Chicago History Museum.
So, um, the old name was getting too dated. Can't give a better lesson in the evolution of interpreting the past than that.
I predict "museum" will be the word that gets booted next go 'round.
